Shellharbour City Council are seeking two Trainee Civil Engineers to join its dynamic Corporate Policy and Shellharbour Enterprises Division.
This is a great opportunity to gain skills and experience in a wide range of Engineering functions in one of the most rapidly developing cities in NSW including design, traffic, works, subdivision control, engineering forward planning and projects & contracts.
Satisfactory completion of at least two semesters of a Bachelor of Engineering - Civil at University of Wollongong or under correspondence by a university accredited by Engineers Australia
An exceptional level of initiative and self motivation
The ability for accuracy and attention to detail
The ability to comprehend and follow instructions
The ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines
A high level of computer literacy and the ability to quickly learn how to operate and apply computer applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent presentation skills
The ability to work as part of a team
Current Class C driver's licence
The salary to be offered will depend on how far you have progressed with your tertiary studies. The commencing annual salary for a Trainee is from $34,008 per annum. In addition, all course and student fees are paid for, with paid leave to attend lectures and exams in accordance with Council's Trainee procedure.
These positions are for a period up to eight (8) years depending on your stage of education and may be reviewed after this time. It will also include rotation with other Trainee Civil Engineers.
