UGL Engineering & Construction have an opportunity for a Contracts Officer based in Nowra, NSW to join our team on a major water infrastructure project. Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will be accountable for providing commercial, financial and contractual support to the project team.

Responsibilities will include;
Purchase of materials, equipment and consumables including co-ordination of delivery to site
SAP input and maintenance of purchase orders, including goods receipt, journals and queries
Prepare and maintain estimate to complete reports
Maintain site PEMS (Purchase and Expense Management System) records
Reconcile data from accounts department with site records
Maintain systems and procedures for contractual requirements
Assist in the development and maintenance of systems and procedures to ensure financial, commercial and contractual requirements are adhered to.
Collate and assist in the submission of progress claims and follow up on payments.
Assist in the preparation of cash flow reports.
Receive sub-contractor progress claims and invoices, record, process and recommend payment.
Control payments to sub-contractors and suppliers by scrutinising accounts and processing when accuracy assured.
Prepare and administer subcontract and supply agreements including control of resulting progress claims, variations and EOTs.
Liaise with the project team, client representatives, suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure information flows freely and relationships are sound.
Prepare and provide assistance for the development of various reports
Maintain records of budgets, committed costs, forecasts, variations and purchases and prepares a monthly report.
Maintain a filing system of site documentation, ensure that information is available when required
Analyse cost and schedule data to identify trends and potential risk areas

Skills and experience required;
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Administration.
Experience with basic contract administration and writing progress reports.
Tertiary qualification is desired
Previous experience working in a project construction environment.
Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels.
Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands
Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Access, Microsoft Outlook & SAP accounting system.
