RATES TECHNICAL OFFICER

Shellharbour City Council are seeking a highly motivated and organised Rates Technical Officer to work in Council's Rates section. Reporting to the Senior Rates Officer, you will be responsible for managing Council's rate receipts and ensuring the rates database is up to date.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance or experience in the Accounting/Finance field
Considerable relevant work experience
Demonstrated high level customer service skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication, negotiation, time management, written and verbal communication skills
An ability to work under pressure and demonstrated attention to detail
Excellent data entry skills
Demonstrated ability to use word processing and spread sheeting software
Experience in managing complex enquiries
Experience in the use of Tech 1 software
Local Government rating experience
This is a part time position working 22.5 hours per week. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award, relevant legislation and Council's policies and procedures. The position is Grade 10 under Council's salary system with a salary up to $646.85 per week.
