Purpose of Position
Interest in laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and urethral reconstruction surgery.
Provide safe, effective surgical care to patients of ISLHD as part of the Senior Urology team and provide supervision of junior staff whilst also undertaking learning and professional development activities.
Participation in clinical duties and non-clinical duties as arranged by the Department of Urology.
Compliance with roster for out-of-hours and weekend duties as arranged by the Department of Urology.
Perform clinical duties independently with suitable junior support.
Compliance with Supervision responsibilities of trainees and academic and clinical performance as well as attitudes and relationships.
Possess a responsible attitude and commitment to the teaching and supervision of junior medical staff in the unit.
Maintain current registration and medical defence indemnity (as appropriate).

Selection Criteria
1. Registration or eligibility for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Completed SET training and has Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with accredited training in urology (or equivalent). Those who are within 6 months of completion may be considered.
3. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
4. Demonstrated effective teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary clinical care team.
5. Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education and teaching undergraduate and post-graduates students.
