Beaton Park Leisure Centre is an iconic part of the Illawarra region, offering the community a wide variety of fitness and leisure activities for over 35 years. The facility includes a 6-lane, 25m pool which sustains a thriving swim school, internal and external squad programs, aqua aerobics classes, birthday parties, lap swimmers and more.
The Aquatics Supervisor will oversee all aspects of pool operations including pool supervision, patron and staff safety, leadership of the lifeguard team, plant operations and maintenance, cleaning and maintenance and more. They will also play a key role in frontline customer service across wet and dry areas.
Essential Selection Criteria:
Certificate III Aquatics.
Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
Current Senior WorkCover-accredited First Aid Certificate.
Current Advanced Resuscitation Certificate.
Extensive experience as a pool lifeguard and in public swimming pool operations.
Proven ability to oversee plant room operations, maintenance and troubleshooting including ability to undertake routine minor maintenance of Centre equipment and plant.
Demonstrated experience overseeing a scheduled program of maintenance, testing and servicing of assets.
Demonstrated experience in leading, supervising and motivating a team.
Mature, friendly and enthusiastic attitude with a strong customer focus.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills for effective liaison with work teams, supervisors, staff, public and external bodies.
Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor WH&S systems, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Practice Note 15, NSW Health Pools & Spas Advisory Document, RLSSA guidelines, Local Government Act and other documents/legislation relevant to pool operations.
Demonstrated computing skills in relation to Microsoft Office software programs.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
Fitness Australia Cert III accreditation and registration.
Knowledge of current trends in the health and fitness industry.
