Looking for an opportunity to work with volunteers and make an impact on our community?
We are looking for a person with experience working with volunteers to assist Council's community transport and social support team with the recruitment, training and support of volunteers in order to achieve funding and business outcomes identified in the Council's Strategic, Management and Divisional Business plans.
The position is funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Program(CHSP) and NSW Family & Community Services – Ageing Disability and Home Care and Transport for NSW. The position are temporary and funded until 30 June 2018.
The successful candidate will be required to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment National Criminal History Check.
Essential Selection Criteria:
Tertiary level qualifications in Community Services or a related field and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating, recruiting, interviewing, training and supporting volunteers.
Demonstrated understanding of Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Community Transport program (CTP).
A high level of communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain a calm, efficient manner during sensitive and demanding situations across a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.
A demonstrated ability to manage own performance, participate constructively in forward planning and contribute to the performance of the team in order to meet the work group's goals and objectives in a multi-skilled team environment.
Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision within agreed objectives and delegation
Demonstrates computer literacy and applications skills in word processing, spreadsheet, email and databases.
Demonstrated understanding and commitment to relevant legislation including Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), Access and Equity (A&E), Work Health and Safety (WH&S), Child Protection related Acts.
Current Class C Drivers Licence.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
Experience working in the Community Care sector.
Experience working in a Local Government context.
