About the role

Joy Global is currently seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Engineering Manager for Continuous Mining Systems, to be located at Moss Vale. The position will oversee a team of dedicated professionals who are responsible for the delivery of technical expertise and guidance underpinning the organization's underground mining product lines. The Engineering Manager will provide direction and support across the full range of engineering disciplines whilst developing a solid commercial platform to ensure a viable and profitable engineering service is provided to internal and external customers.

In this position you will be responsible for:

Leading and managing a team of engineering professionals who are focused on developing, maintaining, and supporting Joy Global's underground product lines.
Driving and supporting the individual development of employees to maximize the performance of the Engineering team and ensure a high level of technical competence at all levels within the department.
In conjunction with the Business Management teams ensure engineering's participation in market research, the coordination and placement of newly developed models, features, and components. Your team will work with and participate with other multidiscipline teams.
Working closely with business leaders to drive business process change, develop policy and procedures and ensure the implementation of the business strategy at a tactical level.
Overseeing and defining departmental budgets, financial models, business proposals, and monetary control processes within engineering, and other affected disciplines of the business.
Initiating, recommending and developing programs with local and international Joy Global resources to ensure effective communication on all relevant engineering & business issues.
Lead the team in best work practices, passing on experience and conducting periodic reviews of team/individual performance and training needs analysis
Implementing and maintaining a safe work environment by ensuring statutory compliance as well as reviewing work planning scheduling practices to support business requirements.
Skills and Qualifications

Tertiary bachelor qualifications in electrical or electronics engineering
Extensive and demonstrated experience managing diverse workgroups and/or major projects within a manufacturing or other heavy industry. Experience in the mining industry highly desirable
Previous experience in PLC and C++ programming
Prior leadership and management experience of machine designers- Electrical / Electronics and Control and Automation Engineers,
Professional registration MIEAust- Essential. CPEng / RPEQ are highly desirable.
A collaborative approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team focus.
