JIRT SENIOR HEALTH CLINICIAN
ILLAWARRA SHOALHAVEN LOCAL HEALTH DISTRICT,
WOLLONGONG, NSW, 2500 FULL TIME, PART TIME
The position is responsible for managing all Health components of the Joint Investigation Response Team (JIRT) response in partnership with JIRT interagency partners, NSW Policy and Community Services (CS). The JIRT health officer will service the communities of Illawarra and Shoalhaven. This position equates to a Social Worker Level 5 / Clinical Psychologist with appropriate skills and experience. This is a permanent full time position with the option for job share / part time as negotiated.

Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants. This position is designated as child-related employment and you will be required to obtain a Working With Children clearance from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
Selection Criteria 1. Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with minimum 2 year full-time equivalent accredited postgraduate Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or tertiary qualification in Social Work with eligibility for Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) and minimum 5 years experience.
2. Demonstrated experience and extensive knowledge, skills and experience in providing therapeutic responses to victims of sexual assault and physical abuse and neglect of children with a minimum of five years relevant clinical experience.
3.Demonstrated high level understanding of the legislation, Government policies, including NSW Health policies and legal issues surrounding sexual assault and the physical abuse and neglect of children and the application of these in a health setting.
4.Demonstrated capacity to develop, maintain and effectively communicate with key multidisciplinary and interagency stakeholders, with high level negotiation and collaborative skills
5.Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse range of tasks, work autonomously under pressure and work within an inter-agency context and meet tight deadlines.
6.Demonstrated understanding of issues surrounding child sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect of children and family violence in Aboriginal communities.
7.Demonstrated capacity to work in culturally appropriate and competent manner with the Aboriginal communities.
8.Current NSW Unrestricted Class C Drivers’ Licence.
