FLEET MANAGEMENT MECHANICAL COORDINATOR

Do you have experience with mechanical engineering techniques?
Operating within the Building, Faciltiies + Workshop unit, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled leader to join our team! You will be responsible for managing the mechanical engineering infrastructure assets as well as leading and motivating the team to provide support services to Council's diverse operations.
You will also be responsible for:
Managing the provision of Council owned, leased and contracted vehicles, heavy vehicles, plant and equipment to meet operational needs, while having regard to maximise utilisation of Council's mechanical assets.
Devise, develop and implement scheduled maintenance programs for mechanical equipment, using contemporary asset maintenance systems.
Monitor asset performance, increase reliability, implement change from reactive to proactive maintenance, bench mark service costs and reduce cost base.
Tertiary qualification (minimum Certificate IV) in an industry recognised mechanical discipline.
Demonstrated experience in managing, leading and motivating staff.
Demonstrated experience adapting mechanical engineering techniques to identify, analyse assess and interpret mechanical infrastructure requirements and schedule maintenance programs.
Demonstrated ability to exercise independence in managing a diverse engineering business section.
Demonstrated ability to implement workplace reform and review work practices and business management systems.
Demonstrated effective communication skills required for negotiating, mediating, gaining cooperation from others and resolving conflict.
Demonstrated experience in the administration and supervision of contracts.
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet strict deadlines and deliver identified outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organise, program, implement, monitor and review business plan objectives and plant management programs and budget control.
Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of WH&S regulations, RMS regulations, Environmental Protection legislation and workplace practices.
Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor WH&S systems, policies and procedures.
Associate Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Current industry recognised qualifications:
- Working at Heights Awareness
- Confined Space Awareness
- Working with Overhead Powerlines Awareness
