Kiama Municipal Council operates across a range of industry sectors. In addition to the traditional functions that are carried out by Councils, Kiama Council is a significant provider of aged care services both within the Municipality and the Illawarra region. Tourism is the major industry in the Local Government Area and Council is a significant provider and supporter of local tourism. Council operates the largest conference and function centre within the Municipality; The Pavilion Kiama along with the highly prized five holiday parks that comprise the Kiama Coast Holiday Parks.

About the Role

Kiama Municipal Council is currently seeking a suitably experienced and qualified Works Labourer to join the team on a permanent full time basis. This role will be responsible for assisting with Council's civil construction and maintenance activities across the municipality and to represent Council in a way that is courteous and efficient. The essential criteria include:

at least 2 years recent experience in civil engineering works including concrete formwork & finishing
current Class C Driver's Licence
Current WHS Construction Induction Card and knowledge of the WHS requirements for the role; and
general literacy and numeracy skills.

This position is classified at Grade 3 of Council's salary structure, with a commencing weekly salary from $829.80 (Step 1) to $877.10 (Step 4) and progression to $983.30 (Step 9) is subject to competence and performance. These rates do not include superannuation. Conditions of employment are in accordance with Council policies and the Local Government (State) Award 2014.
