SCHOOLS AS COMMUNITY CENTRES (SACC) FACILITATOR
WOLLONGONG, NSW, 2500 FULL TIME
Full Time Temporary position - 35 hours per week until 27 January 2019

The NSW Department of Education serves the community by leading the provision of world-class education. The department protects young children by regulating preschool and long day care providers. Once children move into school, we provide them with a world-class primary and secondary education. We also work to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
Schools as Community Centres (SaCC) projects are located in NSW public schools in communities experiencing marked challenges of disadvantage.
SaCC facilitators are responsible for coordinating and managing a range of community engagement initiatives and programs to enhance the early learning and wellbeing of children birth to 8 years. SaCC facilitators utilise a child-focused, family centred prevention and early intervention service model.
NOTE: Recreation leave and flexible working hours
SaCC facilitators employed under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 are remunerated for 52 weeks per annum, required to work for 48 weeks pa with 4 weeks recreation leave. Applications for recreation leave during term time should only be approved by the principal where the school can accommodate such requests and would be unlikely to be approved during term time and SaCC facilitators will be required to attend work during school vacations unless they are accessing approved leave.
Requests for flex days in accordance with the Department’s Flexible Working Hours Agreement will be subject to the Department’s operational convenience which will generally require that flex leave will only be approved during the school vacations.
· Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or Diploma of Early Childhood and Care or demonstrated equivalent experience or capability
· Knowledge of, and commitment to, the Department’s Aboriginal Education policies.
· Current and valid NSW driver's licence.
· Valid and current Working with Children Check clearance.

This is a child-related position. If you are not currently employed in a child-related position in the Department of Education, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number as a condition of employment (if you do not already have this).
