The Strategic Marketing and Communications Unit is currently seeking a permanent full time Media and Corporate Communications Coordinator. The Unit is responsible for managing the University brand, developing and implementing university-wide communications to position the University and to support the delivery of initiatives which meet the objectives of the University's Strategic Plan.
The Media and Corporate Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the implementation of university-wide media and corporate communications strategies. Responsibilities include creating and distributing content in varying forms for media, websites, social media channels and a range of other channels - all of which contribute to the University's brand positioning, as well as responding to media and PR enquiries and contributing to the management of reputational risks.
The Media and Corporate Communications Coordinator reports to the Media and Corporate Communications Manager and works with stakeholders across the organisation including the Executive, Faculties, Schools, Research Groups, students and colleagues, as well as with external stakeholders including partner organisations, suppliers and media representatives.
The unit is seeking a qualified and experienced media and corporate communications specialist with effective time management skills; strong initiative; a positive attitude; excellent communication skills; demonstrated ability working in a team environment; the ability to influence people at all levels and the ability to maintain confidentiality with well-developed qualities of tact, discretion and people skills.
